At a glance

We only collect what’s needed to create your account, sync your saved vocabulary, and understand app usage trends.
Data is hosted on EU-based infrastructure secured with TLS encryption, role-based access controls, and encrypted backups.

Account data
First and last name, email address, preferred language — provided during registration.

Device model, OS version, app version, advertising identifiers (if applicable) — automatically collected.

Message content and metadata when you contact support — provided by you.

Payment information
Transaction IDs and limited billing details supplied by Apple App Store (no card numbers stored).

We do not knowingly collect sensitive data or information from children under 13.

We share personal data only with:

Infrastructure vendors (hosting, databases, transactional email) located in the EU or US with appropriate safeguards.
Distribution platforms (Apple) for in-app purchases.
Analytics vendors PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (stability monitoring) for aggregated reports. When PostHog is enabled in the mobile app, session recordings (screen interactions) may be captured; recordings are masked so vocabulary and other sensitive content are not collected.
Legal advisors or authorities when legally required.

We never sell personal data to data brokers. Cross-border transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

5. Retention

Data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize data within 12 months unless longer retention is required (e.g., legal claims, tax obligations). Technical logs are stored for up to 24 months.

Primary servers are hosted within the European Union. When data must move outside the EU (for example, transactional email delivery), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. Security

We use TLS encryption, encrypted backups, role-based access, staff security training, audit logs, and quarterly reviews to protect your data.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact privacy@tedord.com or use the in-app settings to exercise your rights.

8. Cookies & tracking

Our site uses essential cookies. Analytics/marketing cookies are only activated with your consent and can be withdrawn through the consent banner.

9. Users outside the EU

We apply these standards globally. For California residents (CCPA/CPRA), similar rights apply (access, deletion, limit use of sensitive data).

10. Children’s privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that a child provided data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We will notify you via the app or email if material changes occur. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
